Holbrook Travel, Inc. :: November 2010 – present
Creative Director & Marketing Coordinator
I was hired at Holbrook as Creative Director and soon moved into the Marketing Coordinator position, as well. I developed a five-year marketing plan for the company, as well as a comprehensive budget for the marketing department based proportionally on revenue streams. I developed an e-mail marketing and social networking strategy, a corporate blog, an internship program and oversaw the launch of the company’s website redesign. I also directed the marketing strategy for conference attendance and updated the company’s booth and collateral materials. I worked with printers to reduce print collateral costs and increased ordering and inventory efficiency.

University Press of Florida :: July 2010 – October 2010
Production Assistant
I prepared artwork for press, including digital and print photographs, slides, illustrations, line drawings, transparencies, scans, and an array of other media. I also prepared books to be sold for digital readers, including transferring PageMaker files to Postscript files, combining PDFs, bookmarking and linking text, and applying settings specific to eBooks.

Atlantic Publishing Group, Inc. :: March 2009 – May 2010
Assistant Art Director
I was promoted to lead graphic designer within three months of starting with Atlantic, which is an independent nonfiction book publisher. I designed, copy edited and prepared books for press, as well as managed staff and freelance designers, which included hiring, assigning and overseeing projects and providing feedback on their work. I also did a variety of in-house design work, including designing marketing & print collateral, promotional pieces, and Web site design.

Freelance Graphic Designer and Marketing Strategy Developer
I was the primary graphic designer for the Agency, which specialized in social and environmental communications and marketing. I designed, copy edited and helped develop marketing strategies for corporate e-newsletters, brochures, Web sites, posters, CSR reports, tee shirts, business cards, illustrations and other electronic and print collateral.

The Florida Engineer :: May 2008 – October 2008
Lead Graphic Designer & Creative Director
I redesigned and served as creative director for the University of Florida’s College of Engineering Alumni magazine and Office of Marketing and Communications. I also helped to develop editorial content, led and directed photo shoots, edited and wrote copy, headed marketing campaigns and designed collateral for the campaigns, designed posters, postcards, notebooks and other print materials for the magazine and department.

I took this internship to learn how to design, slice and code Web sites under the direction of an award-winning Web design and marketing staff. I also furthered my skills in Adobe Fireworks, Dreamweaver & MS Visual Web Developer.

The Florida Engineer magazine :: March 2008 – May 2008
Before I worked for University of Florida’s College of Engineering’s Office of Marketing and Communications, I completed an internship with their Alumni magazine. I learned to design with a Wacom tablet, pulled several all-nighters, worked with the editorial staff on developing content, participated in a magazine critique and planning sessions with Paul Pegher of Denison magazine, and participated in the redesign process of the magazine.

Orange & Blue magazine :: January 2008 – August 2008

I was in charge of all creative concepts for the magazine, directed the art staff, planned and directed photo shoots, scouted, interviewed and directed all photographers and illustrators, wrote and edited copy, worked with the printing company during the press process.

That Girl! magazine :: January 2008 – May 2008
Creative Director
I helped conceptualize and develop an award-winning magazine prototype produced by the College of Journalism and Communications. Directed photo shoots, worked with local retailers to get props and clothing for the shoots, directed a staff of 30 people and helped to plan a 10-hour on-location shoot. I was also in charge of creating original content, editing and the design of the entire magazine.
